PZT Control

Vescent Photonics offers high-bandwidth PZT controllers for tuning external-cavity diode lasers and controlling the repetition rate of mode-locked oscillators. The Vescent SLICE-DHV is dual-channel high-voltage controller that features control bandwidth up to 1 MHz with exceptionally low noise.

A PZT controller, also known as a Piezoelectric Controller, is a device used to control piezoelectric transducers. Piezoelectric materials generate an electric charge in response to applied mechanical stress. The PZT controller applies voltages, frequencies, or waveforms to control the movement, displacement, or positioning of the piezoelectric elements. This level of control allows for precise adjustments and dynamic response.

Our PZT controllers are utilized in micro positioning systems, ECDL tuning & locking, repetition rate control, fiber stretcher and micropositioning.

Precision temperature control is used to stabilize many devices, including diode lasers, photonic integrated circuit, frequency combs, and non-linear crystals. Control is often implemented via a PID (proportional integral derivative) loop filter. Parametric control over critical performance parameters of these devices such as the wavelength output or resonant frequency is critical to the success of many experiments and measurements.

Vescent temperature control devices work hand-in-hand with our low-noise current controllers to provide the highest available performance from your optical devices

PID controllers are used as temperature controllers in a number of applications.

  • Our precision laser temperature controllers are designed for precision and stability for use with diode lasers, photonic integrated circuits, oscillators, non-linear crystals, LED drivers, and astronomical interferometers.
  • Precision laser temperature control helps maintain output power and wavelength as well as prevent and prevent overheating that can damage or reduce the longevity of laser and photonic equipment.
  • PID (Proportional Integral Derivative) temperature control is an effective way to discipline your lasers and associated photonics tools and uses a control loop feedback mechanism to control process variables.
  • Our laser temperature controllers are designed to control both thermoelectric coolers (TEC) and heating elements and offer low-noise current source with high modulation bandwidth.
  • The ultra-low current noise offered by our D2 105 Laser Controller is ideally suited for precision spectroscopy and metrology applications.
