Position Summary 

Vescent Technologies seeks a full-time Electronics Technician to build, test, and troubleshoot electronic circuit boards, subassemblies, and finished products supporting cutting-edge applications including quantum computing hardware, optical atomic clocks, and advanced laboratory systems. We are looking for someone with excellent hands-on skills, exceptional attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and enthusiasm to learn. This full-time, on-site role offers significant opportunities for skill development and professional growth and reports to the Production Manager. 

Responsibilities 

  • Populate circuit boards, solder components, and assemble electronic products per written instructions 

  • Perform functional testing, calibration, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of assembled electronic modules 

  • Document yields and performance test results  

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Prototyping, and QC staff to further refine processes and work instructions 

  • Work autonomously in an ESD sensitive environment 

 

Required Qualifications 

  • High school diploma and either 2+ years of electronics experience, quantum technician training, Associate’s degree, or relevant technical certificate 

  • Familiarity with electronic test equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.) 

  • Experience soldering and replacing through-hole and surface mount components 

  • Comfort reading electronic schematics and wiring diagrams 

  • Excellent dexterity, fine motor skills, spatial awareness, and comfort using microscopes 

  • Commitment to workplace safety practices 

  • Strong communication and priority management skills to work with team members and supervisors 

  • Organizational skills to maintain a clean, orderly, and safe working environment 

 

Desirable Additional Skills 

  • Experience with fine-pitch SMD rework 

  • IPC Soldering Certification 

  • Working knowledge of digital and analog circuitry, optics, and control theory 

  • Demonstrated familiarity of the safe operation of light fabrication equipment (dremel, belt sander, laser cutter, etc)
