Position Summary
Vescent Technologies seeks a full-time Electronics Technician to build, test, and troubleshoot electronic circuit boards, subassemblies, and finished products supporting cutting-edge applications including quantum computing hardware, optical atomic clocks, and advanced laboratory systems. We are looking for someone with excellent hands-on skills, exceptional attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and enthusiasm to learn. This full-time, on-site role offers significant opportunities for skill development and professional growth and reports to the Production Manager.
Responsibilities
Populate circuit boards, solder components, and assemble electronic products per written instructions
Perform functional testing, calibration, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of assembled electronic modules
Document yields and performance test results
Collaborate with Engineering, Prototyping, and QC staff to further refine processes and work instructions
Work autonomously in an ESD sensitive environment
Required Qualifications
High school diploma and either 2+ years of electronics experience, quantum technician training, Associate’s degree, or relevant technical certificate
Familiarity with electronic test equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.)
Experience soldering and replacing through-hole and surface mount components
Comfort reading electronic schematics and wiring diagrams
Excellent dexterity, fine motor skills, spatial awareness, and comfort using microscopes
Commitment to workplace safety practices
Strong communication and priority management skills to work with team members and supervisors
Organizational skills to maintain a clean, orderly, and safe working environment
Desirable Additional Skills
Experience with fine-pitch SMD rework
IPC Soldering Certification
Working knowledge of digital and analog circuitry, optics, and control theory
Demonstrated familiarity of the safe operation of light fabrication equipment (dremel, belt sander, laser cutter, etc)
