Salary: $75,000 - $110,000 based upon education, work experience, and skills

Position Summary
Vescent Technologies seeks a creative and highly driven individual to join our Prototyping Group in Golden, CO. The candidate will support the development and release of state-of-the-art laser and opto-electronic technology for readiness for manufacturing release. This role will focus on prototype development, troubleshooting, manufacturing process development, data record keeping design, and setup of frequency-controlled laser solutions. The right candidate is hands-on, enjoys learning new skills, solving challenging technical problems, skilled at pattern recognition, and being part of a highly collaborative team. The position will involve working with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, production technicians, and sales and marketing personnel to ensure the design of prototypes will meet the design and manufacturing requirements along with market demands. This position is >95% on-site and in-laboratory. Travel requirements: 0-5%
Responsibilities
Work independently and collaboratively on prototype systems
Build and test prototype lasers and electro-optical systems while evaluating DFM readiness
Development of manufacturing processes for prototype systems for manufacturing release – including work instruction, test station setups, and testing record keeping
Perform laboratory measurements. Analyze and present test data
Develop and document test and assembly procedures
Participate in discussions with collaborators
Provide feedback on prototype designs and test station setups
Required Qualifications
B.S. or M.S in Physics, Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree in relevant field
5+ years’ experience in a research or manufacturing environment
Demonstrated laboratory experience in lasers or fiber optics in a manufacturing or troubleshooting role
Experience with electronic test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, frequency counters)
Desirable Additional Skills
Experience in developing manufacturing processes
Experience working in a Document Control or Change Control manufacturing environment
Demonstrated proficiency in computer programming (Python preferred) and data analysis
