Position Summary

Vescent Technologies Inc. seeks a versatile Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Administration team. The right candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions related to the company's expenses, ensuring timely payments, maintaining vendor relationships, and upholding financial accuracy. This candidate will be highly self-motivated, very detail oriented, demonstrate great initiative in problem solving, enjoy learning new skills and communicating effectively across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable transactions using accounting software and other programs.
  • Verify, process, and record invoices received from vendors. Ensure that invoices match purchase orders and receipts to avoid duplicate or unauthorized payments.
  • Ensure bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures.
  • Handle accounts payable for separate entities and vendors.
  • Analyze workflow processes.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing vendors.
  • Process Employee Expense reports for reimbursement in accordance with policy.
  • Apply credit card transactions to accounts payable transactions on a daily basis and reconcile any advance payments.
  • Assist in preparation of documentation for financial audits.
  • Process 1099 year-end filing.

Required Qualifications

  • Work experience: >3 years and preferred education of a B.S. in Accounting (or another related field)
  • Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft applications
  • Understanding of GAAP compliance
  • Ability to seek out solutions to problems
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.
