Position Summary

Vescent is seeking a candidate who will provide technical sales support to our European distributors; promote our products, name, and capabilities by participating in conferences and trade shows and visiting potential and existing customers; and help our European distributors prospect, manage customer relationships, and close sales of Vescent's products in Europe.

Candidates will have expert technical knowledge of optical frequency combs and their applications and have existing customer-facing sales and/or technical support experience in use of lasers for quantum applications.

Responsibilities

· Assist in energetically pursuing and closing sales leads with Vescent’s distributors in Europe. Educate our customers as to the capabilities and competitive advantages of Vescent products and capabilities.

· Become an expert in Vescent products and well-versed in their use and applications to best serve our customers.

· Assisting with planning for Vescent participation at conferences and trade shows.

· Travel to visit customers at their work location and/or conferences and trade shows.

· Regularly report regarding the status of the sales opportunities.

· Gather and report market intelligence regarding the competitive status of Vescent products and potential product improvements and introductions.

· Provide strategic input for Sales & Marketing planning.

· All other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

· Ph.D. in Physics, Optics, Engineering, or related field strongly preferred. Non-Ph.D. also considered with evidence of extensive experience.

· High level of technical expertise in lasers—especially optical frequency combs—and laser-based quantum applications.

· People-oriented with collaborative work ethic.

· Self-driven with a high level of independent motivation; able to handle multiple prospects simultaneously.
